Wilmington, NC is no stranger to excellent live entertainment. In fact, it has been ever since the late 18th century. And that’s what you can expect to find at the Cape Fear Community College Humanities &Fine Arts Center. Located in downtown Wilmington, NC, the nearly 1,600-seat state-of-the-art venue will not disappoint when it comes to presenting the biggest and brightest stars in the performing world. At the heart of it all is the Cape Fear Stage, which delivers three totally different series throughout the year. First, there’s the PNC Broadway Series, bringing a host of national touring companies in such classic Broadway shows as “Mamma Mia” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
Next up is the Star Series where top musicians and singers take center stage. Headliners range from The Gipsy Kings and The Celtic Tenors to The Moody Blues and Jackson Browne. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to hear the North Carolina Symphony and the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. Finally, there’s the Contemporary Dance Series whose programs include Tales from Russia Ballet, Little Mermaid Ballet, and Swan Lake along with companies like Gaspard & Dancers and SEOP Dance Company. But there’s more to the Cape Fear Community College Humanities & Fine Arts Center than just live theater, music, and dance. Students have a one-of-a-kind laboratory at their disposal where they can practice their craft and learn new skills in carpentry, costume design, lighting, and marketing.
