Whatever your taste in film, you'll want to make a point of stopping by the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival in Wilmington, NC. The much anticipated annual event runs for three days, from Thursday, March 10, 2016 to Saturday, March 12, 2016. All genres of movies will be shown at various venues, including the Browncoat Theatre and Hannah S. Block USO/Community Arts Center. While you will see movies that were made by filmmakers who live all over the country and the world, the festival has made a name for itself by focusing on the films of North Carolinians.
Since 2000, the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival has been the place for several premieres, including "The Cake Eaters" with Mary Stuart Masterson, "Savage" with Justin Blum, and "Heart of the Country" with John Ward. It has also drawn an eclectic array of celebrity hosts, such as Julianna Guill ("Friday the 13th"), Joe Manganiello ("True Blood"), Danielle Panabaker ("Piranha 3DD"), and Nick Searcy ("Justified"). Along with films, the festival also features a variety of panels that are both educational and business-related. There are also celebrity guests and the Wilmington Film Awards, which range from Best Feature ($500 prize) to Best Short ($250 prize). Tickets for films are as low as $8 and as high as $15. For the truly serious filmgoer, weekend passes are available. Get the whole film festival picture online at http://www.wilmingtonandbeaches.com/events-calendar/cape-fear-independent-film-festival/.
