For those of you who grew up to the music of Patti Page in the 1950s and 1960s, you will most definitely be drawn to the Mainstage at Thalian Hall in Wilmington, NC at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. That is when "Flipside: The Patti Page Story" will be performed. This entertaining jukebox musical not only features the more than two dozen hits that made the former Clara Ann Fowler famous, such as "Tennessee Waltz" and "How Much is That Doggie in the Window," but it provides her fascinating personal backstory as well. To give you an idea of how popular the Oklahoma native was, she sold more than 100 million records, making her the highest-selling recording artist during the Eisenhower era.
"Flipside: The Patti Page Story" was written by Greg White in collaboration with Patti Page. White is an actor, director, playwright, producer, and Director of Musical Theatre and Producer for Broadway Tonight! at The University of Central Oklahoma where the show had its premiere. What's more, it went on to win 18 awards at the National Kennedy Center Festival in Washington D.C. From there, the musical enjoyed a brief but successful run Off-Broadway at the renowned 59 E. 59 theatre. Tickets for "Flipside: The Patti Page Story" range from $22 to $40.
